KDevelop aims to create an IDE which doesn't get into your way and nevertheless provides a powerful
and versatile set of tools for software development. Support for C++ and CMake are KDevelop's most prominent
and widely used features, but the 4.6.0 release -- among other things -- also continues to improve
the language support for PHP and Python.

Startup
KDevelop comes with a shiny new animated Splash Screen. Furthermore you can now open files in the currently running session easily from the command line via kdevelop $file.

UI Cleanups
The area tabs (quot;Codequot;, quot;Reviewquot;, quot;Debugquot;) have been replaced with a unified button, which should make it more obvious how they are supposed to be used. You change the areas by invoking an action such as quot;Debug Processquot; and then quot;Go Backquot; to coding if you are finished in the quot;Debugquot; area. Related to that, the Working Sets are now identified by a fresh, consistent set of icons.

Improved C++ support

On machines that already use the recently released GCC 4.7, you need KDevelop 4.3.1 to ensure proper support for many C++ stdlib classes in our language support. This is due to the usage of the new C++11 noexecept keyword in the stdlib header files, which was not supported by KDevelop until now.

Furthermore we managed to resolve a nasty bug in our template support, which so far could freeze our parser when processing specific template code. This means you can finally use the famous Eigen library among others in KDevelop again.

Other Bugfixes

Beside the notable changes above, KDevelop 4.3.1 comes with lots of bug fixes for our PHP and QtHelp documentation plugins, the PHP support and other areas. As usual, we also managed to resolve a few crashes.

* Aleix Pol: Simplify cmake reloading logic. Add more assertions, should make it easier if there's anything crashing. I used kde-runtime to debug it and it didn't crash once after the changes.
