The OVAL Interpreter is a freely available reference implementation that demonstrates the evaluation of OVAL Definitions. Based on a set of Definitions the interpreter collects system information, evaluates it, and generates a detailed OVAL Results file.

Developed to demonstrate the usability of OVAL Definitions and to ensure correct syntax and adherence to the OVAL Schemas by definition writers, it is not a fully functional scanning tool and has a simplistic user interface but running the Interpreter will provide a list of OVAL Definition IDs and their results on the system (see the OVAL Test Content).

· Updated the unix-def:xinetd_test to support unbounded item entities (flags, no_access, and only_from).
· Improved robustness in getting the signature_keyid entity in rpminfo_item's. It should no longer get quot;(not a blob)quot; for any rpm's.
· Added support for the ipv6_address datatype. Ipv6 addresses aren't actually collected yet.
· Changed the format of values of the language entity of win-def:file_item's. It used to be hard-coded; now, the VerLanguageName() function is used, which means the OS chooses the format.
