It would appear that VeraCrypt has now become a viable alternative to TrueCrypt and certainly worthy of considering if anyone is serious about protecting their data.

It works seamlessly with my Win7 machine and despite the common rhetoric about it taking longer to encrypt/mount, my experience using the Pre-boot authentication method has led to an extended boot-time of less than a minute, which in my opinion, is acceptable, especially if one is that serious about system security and has already considered (WDE) as their solution of choice. Waiting an extra 30 or so seconds to get into Windows, is really not that much of a drawback.

I would recommend this product to anyone serious about Whole-Disk-Encryption.
