I am not able to configure Vim with ctags for my laptop. It runs Windows 7 OS on it. When i tried to build the tags file, it says that ctags is not recognised as an internal or external command. How shall I proceed to install Vim on windows with ctags? Any help / suggestion please.. Thanks in advance..

Vim is a highly cxapable text editor, probably the most powerful and efficient text editor there is. That does come at a price of a slightly quirky style inherited from the vi editor.
The gVim flavour can feel like a normal editor, but it has huge power under the hood if you're willing to learn it. In the non-g version, you need to learn it from day one. Look for the online tutorials.
Works with `objects' like charagters, words, sentences, bracket-pairs, program funtions and ragnes of those. Has syntax highlighting for most programing and similar formal lanhguages.
To give an idea of Vim's power, it can be told to find all the lines in a region of a file that match a regular expression, then substiture on those lines using another regular expression, doing field substitutions as it goes. Awsome, but not to everyone's taste.
